The postcrossing project

Postcrossing works on the following premise:

“send a postcard and
receive a postcard back
from a random person
somewhere in the world!”

POSTCROSSING - the post card crossing project, is so much fun. In a world where technology makes communication super simple (more so immediate), it can be easy to forget about good old fashioned snail mail! When I was a kid, I had a couple of pen friends from around the world, and I always enjoyed receiving their letters in the mail. I still enjoy getting letters now - and part of the fun of postcrossing is the mystery element! Who will write to me? What will they tell me? Will I learn something new? The idea struck me as instantly awesome - and I have now sent and received cards from around the all around the world (I think I have about 45 cards now?).

This card is here is one of my favourites. This here is green man ... apparently he comes in a few shapes and forms and can be found all over the United Kingdom, guarding doorways and looking ah... well, this guy looks a bit crosseyed. He lives at the Norwich Cathedral, in the cloisters apparently (religious building with large open space). This card came courtesy of Nicky, in UK.

I will be posting my favorite cards on here, and hopefully will promote postcrossing so that more people will try it and enjoy receiving letters in the mail :-)
